Ya Ya's check up

This last wednesday, Ya Ya had her yearly check up on her heart. She was born with a small hole in her heart, and in Dec. of 2007 we had it corrected. What a relief for mom and dad! Everything went well and is still doing well. There is still a small leak down toward the bottom of the device they installed. The doctor is not concerned at all, he said scar tissue will build up around the leak and close it up. It will just take some more time. Everything else is in place the way it should be, and she is doing great.



Each check up they do an echo to watch the blood flow around the hole. Allison is pretty relaxed and used to the whole ordeal. It helps also that they have a movie playing while the echo is done. This time it was "Finding Nemo".



I've never taken pictures of her during the echo, not sure why. The tech had to step out and make sure she had enough pictures for the doctor. So, me being a little bored, got the camera out. Allison loves to have pictures taken of her, she did great for my camera as well!! Nothing but big smiles!!



Matthew also did surprisingly well. We were a little worried that he might get fussy, but he either watched the movie, or looked at all the picture stickers they had (also of Nemo) all over the room. When the tech stepped out, he played peek-a-boo in the curtain and couldn't have been any happier.



It was a good, quick, visit. We were able to visit with Kevin's family for a couple of hours. That was nice for the kids, it let them get all the wiggles out before the long drive home.
