He felt terrible! I still loved it, and, it tasted sooo YUMMY!! I thought it was just sweet for him to want to make me a cake. (If you want to read about the candles you can look at last year's post.).
A whole year has gone by (quickly I might add) and here we are again, my birthday. Kevin wanted to redeem himself. He thought and thought about what kind of cake to make, how to decorate it, and how to make it special for me.
And this is what came about after all that thinking....
Pretty impressive isn't it?! A two tiered cake, home made chocolate fondant (so much better tasting then that un-homemade stuff), and no help from me. I couldn't be more proud of my husband. Then again, with how much he helps me with the cakes I make, I shouldn't be surprised. But I am!!!!!! The top layer is German Chocolate, one of my most favorites!! The bottom layer is a triple chocolate fudge cake with raspberry cream cheese filling. Again, all thought up and made by husband. Obviously this cake had a lot of TLC!!!
I made the tractor cake for Matthew while Kevin was making my cake, then we thought it would be fun to combine the two cakes. I thought it looked pretty darn cute!!
