Matthew's birthday cake

I wanted to first make a dinosaur cake for Matthew's birthday this year, but I couldn't settle on an idea. I was running out of time (three cake were made this weekend, one Kevin made though--but in the same kitchen with one oven---crazy busy!!). I found an idea of a tractor cake that I just loved, and the best part is, it was pretty straight forward and easy. Perfect!! (And it's actually what Matthew wanted from the beginning). So, here it is....

Turned out about what I had pictured and little Matthew loved it!! He also watched me make it, he made sure to tell me what went where, and he also helped with all the chocolate pieces around the tracks.

What a fun weekend full of cakes, parties and smiles. That's what it is all about!!!
(The following posts show the other cakes that were made this weekend--enjoy!)

  3. For the right price I can be!! Hee hee. What does she like, what is she into, colors, etc... If you need the help thinking of an idea I will try to help. But I still think that you would do a great job. A famous cake decorator once said "just have fun with it, there is always some way to cover up the mistakes" or something like that. That was Duff-Ace of Cakes, my hero in the cake world. And it's true! You'll do awesome!!
